Pinterest: the guerrilla knitting board
You know I’m a bit of a guerrilla knitter (yep, that’s me over there on knitthecity.com). But I’ve got nothing on three of the world’s most prolific graffiti crafters, who I’ve interviewed for the book about their exploits. Over on Pinterest I’ve collected a few of my favourite images of guerrilla knitting from across the world.
Pinterest: the craftastrophe board
Not all craft is pretty. Actually, some of it is actually pretty shit (just take a look at Regretsy). It’s why I recruited five bloggers who trawl the web for craft that’s the worst of the worst for Material World. Why? So they could share their advice on how not to make it look shit.
Here is a Pinterest board of craft you you never, ever want to make.
Pinterest: the super fan board
How big a Twilight fan are you? Enough to read the books and see all the movies? Enough to see the new one twice at the cinema? Enough to tweet with the #teamedward hastag during the film? Fair. Then you must be a fan. Alas, you’ve got nothing on the fans on this Pinterest board. They love that vampire threesome – and a host of other stuff – so much that they make stuff to celebrate the shows. Why bother? I asked a couple of super fan crafters for a feature in Material World.
Pinterest: the craftivism board
The godmother of craftivism, Betsy Greer, writes in Material World about why using craft as activism is just so frickin’ effective. And to celebrate, I’ve pinned my favourite pieces of craftivism on this new Pinterest board.
Pinterest: the XXX craft board
Craft has a naughty side, and it’s getting bigger and more explicit by the day, which is why I interviewed three makers who stitch XXX craft for Material World. Welcome to a world where the stitching is erotic, the swearing is offensive and the craft is unlike anything you’ve seen before. Enjoy my new Pinterest board!
