My COLLECT object of the day

 Bracelet 'Koi' by David Bielander

To celebrate COLLECT, the International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects at the Saatchi gallery, I was asked by the Craft Council to choose one of my favourite pieces from the show.

Who wouldn’t have gone for Bracelet ‘Koi’ by David Bielander, 2012? I love it because it’s beautiful AND functional (Dave, if you want to lend it to me next year for my wedding …)

To see the other objects chosen by the likes of the Design Museum and Ceramic Review, head to the COLLECT Pinterest board.

Ooh this Fair Trade jewellery is most lovely

JustTrade_BrassRibbonRings_af-300x300

I’ll admit Fair Trade stuff might be A Good Thing, but it isn’t always beautiful.

Fortunately, Just Trade exists. One of my bestest friends bought me a piece from the site (one of her friends owns it), and I wear it ALL the time.

A Alicia necklaceA Alicia necklace

Anna from A Alicia accessories sent me these a couple of months back: I still want them just as much as I did then.

This is rather excellent jewellery.

‘Sisters who make earrings from the wings of cicadas say their jewellery is flying off the shelves,’ from the Daily Mail.

I moved house this week.

And I found a bag of jewellery stuff that I bought in New York. In just a couple minutes I made these little earrings.
