I am shocked and appalled at both Linda Barker and the Indy for this.

‘‘We have to rekindle skills. People should make more cushions. They should upcycle old furniture. Knitting and sewing should be revived.’ Says she of Changing Rooms fame in the Independent last week.

Erm, we have, we do, they do, and they were revived almost a decade ago by the likes of Debbie Stoller and Rachael Matthews.

Tsk.

I had to create a new blog tag for this post: ‘WTF’.

  1. I agree, the piece was shocking. Has she been living under a rock for the past decade???

I predict a new range of Linda Barker fabrics and other craft products, highly overpriced of course. I am a relatively new crafter, but have still been crafting for a least 3 years. Has she not heard of shabby chic? Or why car boots and charity shop finds are so popular?
