This weekend I missed the Festival of Quilts at the NEC.

So the wonderful Julian, one of the Twisted Thread team (who organise it), sent me a little picture of something from the show that I might like: a photo of the memorial to Australian women convicts (18,000 bonnets have been collected apparently). Next year I mustn’t miss it. It’s such a brilliant event.

  1. You missed a good show. Those bonnets were amazing…you couldn’t get near the stand as everyone was so interested in them. Some of the embroidery on the bonnets was amazing…they had some displayed on the wall so you could look at them close up.
