I’m ridiculous, apparently.

“Perri also says that after you’ve made your own bib necklace you’ll never buy a beaded necklace for under fifty pounds again, which seems like a ridiculous claim given that fifty pounds is almost a hundred US dollars these days, and spending a hundred dollars on a beaded necklace is one of the signs of the apocalypse.”

A comment about my bib necklace tutorial for the Guardian a few weeks ago, by Hope Alexander on Hub Pages. I know she meant it entirely nicely (and this isn’t a dig at her at all), but the thing is, it’s true. These things take so long to make, that to buy one ‘handmade’ for less than that surely means that someone’s being short changed somewhere along the production line. Right?
