Because cross stitch is great, but sometimes it’s SO frickin’ slow to do.
Luckily, this book by Jacqui Pearce (the lady behind Pearl and Earl and a shed load of other things) is published tomorrow.

(Excellent work by a brand, don’t you think?)
Wow, this is one hell of a story in the Mirror, about Rose West giving craft lessons. My favourite line from the piece?
‘They are all good with needles, which is not necessarily a pleasant thought considering their crimes.’
So says the Evening Standard in their Monday supplement, Trends. All illustrated with a nice big picture of a cross-stitched Vogue.
I have spent most of today at the Stitch and Craft show. Here are my favourite pictures of the day:
1. Snippets from the Foundling Museum’s ‘Threads of Feeling’ exhibition.
2&3. Two pieces from the uber- brilliant exhibition of famous knitted artworks, by Newcastle-based knitters The Materialistics.
4. Yarn. Lovely, colourful yarn.
5. Loani Prior’s Carmen Miranda-inspired tea cozy.
6&9. Gaga and other stuff, stitched, and the new-to-2011 Mr X Stitch stand. Nothing to buy, just stuff to look at.
